Hinting at New Year's deal
So what's the big deal with our New Years deal we have? You still have to wait until then to know.
But I figured, why make it a complete surprise eh?
On New Years a big special will be held... that will benefit all businesses and people too! Let's just say, it's going to involve the paid sections of our website in a way that businesses will want to register ASAP.
Of course, you may think that you know what it is we're doing, and you may be right. Or not. Hard to tell really since I'm here, sitting in the offices typing this out, and you're there at home, school or library, maybe even work. And I'm not telepathic. But I can safely say that either you have figured it out or you haven't.
However, as a very important decision, that won't be available immediately, we are now offering ALL of our zip/postal code to be purchased for a small fee (we call it our "zip code database", because that's what people search for when looking for this type of thing). Why a small fee? All the data is as the users have entered it -- so errors may exist, although we do have over 44000 entries for the
So if you're in the market for a zip code database, zip code listing, or anything else you might want to call it, stay tuned! Now, while I can't say with 100% certainty, it is being tossed around that the cost for the zip code database will be about $15-$25 (depending on whether a CD's given, or download only). Likewise, it's assumed right now that we'll have a "do whatever, as long as it's legal, and just right for the world" usage attitude (i.e. can use it at a business, in a program, include it in a program, etc).
As another turn we're taking, our website (everywhereslocal.com) will also have a "city info block" at the top, listing different tidbits of information that we have on it.
We had a radio campaign going on in one town over the holidays... we were really hoping that it'd drove some traffic to us (primarily Christian town, sponsored the Christmas music). But alas, we got one visitor. One.... that's the number 1. A single person visited the site after hearing our sponsorship. So much for advertising eh? Well, live and learn. We already learned that newspaper advertising doesn't do anything (for our business, and many others), and now we've added the radio to this list. Try for TV? well, only time will tell.
So, that's all I have for today.
